These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Naam Lock iPhone app and its website (together, “Naam Lock” or the “Service”). By downloading, installing or using Naam Lock, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About Naam Lock
Naam Lock is a devotional habit app. It offers a naam jaap (chanting) counter, a Panchang (Hindu calendar) with festival and fasting reminders, prayer texts such as the Hanuman Chalisa, and an optional lock that keeps apps you choose closed until you complete your chanting. Naam Lock supports your personal practice. It does not give religious, medical, psychological or financial advice.
2. Who can use Naam Lock
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please use Naam Lock with the permission of a parent or guardian.
- You must use Naam Lock only for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes.
3. Your account
- You can use many features without an account. An account lets you back up your chanting history and restore it on a new phone.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information, and do not create an account for another person without their permission.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete my account). See our Privacy Policy.
4. Free and Pro features
Naam Lock is free to use, with no ads. The free version includes unlimited chanting, all names and mantras, the Panchang and reminders, prayer texts, widgets, and Naam Lock for one app. Naam Lock Pro adds locking for any number of apps, categories and websites, additional unlock rules (such as “after my full daily goal”), Strict mode and voice counting. The features in each version are described in the app and may change over time.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
- Pro is offered as an auto-renewing yearly or monthly subscription, and as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country and change over time.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials: where a free trial is offered, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. A free trial is available once per Apple ID. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Introductory and special offers (for example a discounted first year) apply only as described when shown, and renew at the regular price afterwards.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period continues until it ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
- “Lifetime” means Pro access for as long as Naam Lock is offered and supported on the App Store.
- If your Pro access ends, Naam Lock continues on the free version and the lock is reduced to the free plan (one app).
6. Naam Lock and Screen Time
- The lock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) features and needs your permission. Apple decides how these features work and may change them, which can affect the lock.
- Without Strict mode, you can turn the lock off and use a limited number of emergency unlocks each day. With Strict mode on, emergency unlocks are not available and the lock cannot be turned off until your chanting for the day is complete. Turn on Strict mode only if you are comfortable with this.
- Do not lock apps you may need urgently, such as phone, messages, maps, banking, health or emergency apps. Naam Lock is not responsible for any loss caused by apps you chose to lock.
- You can always remove Naam Lock's Screen Time permission in iPhone Settings, or delete the app.
7. Panchang, festivals and prayer texts
Panchang timings (sunrise, tithi, Rahu Kaal, fast-breaking times) and festival dates are calculated on your phone for the city you choose, using standard astronomical methods. Traditions and regions sometimes observe festivals on different days. For important rituals, please follow your family custom, priest or local temple. Prayer texts and their meanings are provided for devotional reading; translations and meanings are simplified and may differ from other editions. We are not responsible for decisions made using this information.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the Service, for example by sending false counts to the community counter, interfering with our systems, or trying to access other people's data.
- Do not copy, modify, sell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
9. Intellectual property
The Naam Lock app, name, logo, design, artwork and text are owned by Naam Lock or its licensors. Sacred names, mantras and traditional texts belong to everyone; our presentation of them is ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these Terms and the App Store rules. You may share the progress cards the app creates for you.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Naam Lock accurate and reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that counts and timings will always be exact.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Naam Lock is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Naam Lock in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. When we change the Terms we will update the date above, and for important changes we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Naam Lock after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using Naam Lock at any time. We may end the Service with reasonable notice.
13. Apple
These Terms are between you and Naam Lock, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance, support or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these Terms do not cover a topic.

If it cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
